Wildlife has always been a favorite of mine to photograph. Having the right equipment, being prepared, informed, and knowing when and where to go are good tips when it comes to nature photography.

Fawn looking
A fawn stopped for a look before moving on at Big Meadows, Shenandoah National Park.
Bear cubs
Two bear cubs crawled up on top of a downed tree next to the Appalachian Trail in Shenandoah National Park. Mama was off to the left. I didn't try to get any closer and she was ok with that.
Bat
A bat appeared on my front screen door one day and stayed awhile. Bats lived in the roof and the house next door. A bat occurrence was not uncommon.
Great Egret
A great egret flies away with its next meal along the Atlantic coast.
Red Panda
I was checking out this red panda while this red panda was checking me out. National Zoo, Washington D.C.
Mink
A mink raises its head from taking a drink to watch me canoe by on the North Fork of the Shenandoah River.
Hawksbill Sea Turtle
A hawksbill sea turtle is exploring a beach to find a good nesting spot in Antigua.
