Light and color.  Photographing landscapes, nature, and the Shenandoah Valley for a few decades has given me a great opportunity to witness light and color set in a beautiful landscape.  The core of my photography is the region I live within, the Shenandoah Valley.  I have been fortunate to have lived and traveled to other scenic locations where the light and color were perfect to photograph as well. 

Wherever I am, the light and color might put on a spectacular show.  Sometimes you have to wait for it to happen and be there when it does.  Sometimes these moments of light and color can go on for hours.  Sometimes, they only last for a few seconds.  Seeing and photographing these moments exhibited on my website are only a select few photos of my entire collection of photographs.

When photographing wildlife, light and color are just as important and also adding the life and behavior of that wildlife.  With Shenandoah National Park and the Shenandoah River nearby, wildlife is accessible and in many varieties.  Living near these places makes Shenandoah an ideal location.
